Yet a color on its own cannot change everything, so MCC has used this platform to raise awareness about the disease and curb the stigma surrounding an issue that continues to impact many lives across the globe.
So what does the pink logo actually mean?
It serves first as a reminder of a reality that cannot be ignored. It is there to think of the millions of women and families whose daily lives have been upended by the disease. In 2024 alone, an estimated 2.4 million women were diagnosed worldwide, while 694,000 died from it. Breast cancer remains the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women on a global scale.
It then serves to show that memories remain alive. Behind every statistic lies a human being. A diagnosis is never just a medical event: it disrupts a household, alters routines, instills doubt day by day, and demands a lot from those around the person. The World Health Organization (WHO) theme for this awareness month, "Every story is unique, every journey matters", precisely recalls that no one experiences this ordeal in the same way and that anyone affected deserves dignity, support, and access to quality care.
It also invites breaking the silence and talking about it. While awareness is a necessary start, the real challenge often lies in delayed action when facing the disease. When people are more informed and prompt in catching early physical changes, the severity of the illness and its heavy impact can be significantly reduced, and awareness serves as the foundational first step toward that goal.
Finally, it firmly asserts that no one should go through this ordeal alone. Care is not limited to initial detection; it also encompasses treatment effectiveness, rehabilitation, and the accessibility of these services for those who need them. The WHO continues to highlight glaring disparities in survival rates from one country to another, where access to quality care plays a critical role.
This is why at MCC, modifying our logo colors for the month of October represents a deeply held commitment. It is our way of adding a visible and dedicated gesture to a much broader dialogue, reminding everyone of the importance of staying informed, looking out for loved ones, and supporting those going through the illness.
Awareness and action must never be confined to a color or a single calendar month. As a brand, MCC takes full responsibility for carrying this message forward beyond October, because while a logo initiates the discussion, the rest of the commitment belongs to all of us.
